Natural Habitat

Found inside buildings, particularly in humid environments, on walls, or under furniture. It prefers shaded, damp areas.

Diet & Feeding

Scavengers that feed on spider webs, wool, human hair, and silk fibers.

Behavior Patterns

The larva constructs a spindle-shaped protective case made of silk, sand, and dust. It can move its head and legs out of either end of the case to crawl. They undergo metamorphosis inside the case to become small, greyish moths.

Risks & Benefits

They are considered minor household pests because they can damage natural fiber fabrics and spider webs, but they pose no physical risk to humans or pets.
