Diet & Feeding

Larvae feed on spider webs, wool, human hair, dust, and discarded silk from other insects.

Behavior Patterns

The larva constructs a spindle-shaped silk case covered in sand, dust, and debris for protection. It moves by extending its head and legs from either end of the case and dragging it along.

Risks & Benefits

They are nuisance pests that can damage natural fiber clothing or carpets. They do not bite or pose a direct health risk to humans.
