Diet & Feeding
Adults feed on the foliage of over 100 different plant species, while larvae feed on the roots.
Behavior Patterns
They are nocturnal feeders and are flightless. Most populations consist entirely of females that reproduce parthenogenetically (without mating).
Risks & Benefits
A significant agricultural and horticultural pest that can kill plants by damaging the root system. They pose no direct risk to human health.
