Masked hunter (likely nymph)

Dry, sheltered indoor areas such as wall voids, attics, basements, and behind furniture; also occurs outdoors under bark and debris.

Predatory, feeding on flies, cockroaches, bed bugs, and other small arthropods. It pierces prey with a straw-like beak and sucks out bodily fluids.

Mostly nocturnal and solitary. Nymphs deliberately coat themselves with dust for camouflage; adults develop wings and are attracted to light.

Beneficial as a predator of household pests. It is not known to transmit disease, but it can deliver a painful defensive bite if handled.
