Natural Habitat

Typically found indoors in humid, tropical or subtropical environments, often seen crawling on walls or ceilings.

Diet & Feeding

Larvae feed on spider webs, wool, human hair, fur, and other natural fibers.

Behavior Patterns

The larva builds a flattened, spindle-shaped case from silk, sand, and dust which it drags along as it moves. It can protrude its head from either end of the case to feed.

Risks & Benefits

Generally considered a household pest as they can damage natural fiber textiles or clothes. They pose no direct health risk to humans or pets.
