Natural Habitat
Open areas including grasslands, gardens, and backyards. Frequently found on vertical surfaces such as walls, fences, and tree trunks.
Diet & Feeding
Carnivorous; hunts various insects such as flies, moths, beetles, and even other spiders.
Behavior Patterns
Active diurnal hunters that do not spin webs to catch prey. They use keen eyesight to track prey and jump significant distances to pounce. Their iridescent green or blue chelicerae (mouthparts) are a distinct feature.
Risks & Benefits
Generally harmless to humans and very unlikely to bite unless handled roughly. They are highly beneficial to ecosystems and gardens as they provide natural pest control by eating common agricultural and household pests.
