Masked hunter (juvenile)

Indoor, dry, dark areas such as wall voids, basements, attics, and around stored materials; also occurs outdoors under bark and debris.

Predatory: pierces and sucks juices from flies, cockroaches, bed bugs, and other arthropods. It does not feed on blood.

Nocturnal and secretive. Nymphs deliberately coat themselves with dust and debris for camouflage; adults are winged and may wander indoors.

Helpful because it consumes household pests. It can deliver a painful defensive bite if handled, but it is not considered medically dangerous and does not infest people.
