Natural Habitat
Found indoors in homes, especially in cooler months, and outdoors under bark, stones, or leaf litter.
Diet & Feeding
Primarily predatory, feeding on other small arthropods.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal hunters that do not build webs for catching prey, but rather for shelter (sacs) where they hide, molt, and lay eggs. They are known for their fast movement.
Risks & Benefits
Their bite can be painful, causing localized redness and swelling, and potentially a necrotic lesion in rare cases, though usually not as severe as a brown recluse. They are beneficial for controlling household pests.
