Behavior Patterns
Larvae often construct silken tunnels or mats while feeding. They are photophobic (avoid light) and prefer humid, quiet environments. Eggs are laid directly on food sources.

Major economic risk as a textile pest; they cause significant damage to clothing, upholstery, and rugs. They provide no significant benefits to human environments and are considered a nuisance.
