Order & Family: Coleoptera; Staphylinidae
Size: 7mm to 10mm in length.

Damp environments, grasslands, gardens, and areas near bodies of water.
Diet & Feeding
Predatory: they feed on other small insects and larvae in the soil or leaf litter.
Behavior Patterns
Usually active during the day, they are fast runners and are often attracted to bright artificial lights at night. They undergo a complete metamorphosis from egg to larvae, pupa, and adult.
