Household Casebearer

Humid climates, typically found indoors on walls, under furniture, or on wool carpets.

The larvae feed on organic fibers including spider webs, wool, silk, hair, and dead insects.

The larva constructs a protective silk case flattened and wider in the middle. It can turn around inside the case to feed from either end.

Can be a minor household pest by damaging natural fiber clothing, rugs, or upholstery. Not harmful to humans or pets.
