Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Herbivorous; they pierce plant tissues and suck out sap using specialized mouthparts called stylets.
Behavior Patterns
They are slow-moving and often cluster in protected areas of plants, like leaf axils. They excrete a waxy, white coating for protection and produce honeydew, a sticky substance that can lead to sooty mold growth.
Risks & Benefits
Generally considered pests; they can weaken or kill plants by draining sap and transmitting plant diseases. They offer no direct benefits to humans and are difficult to control due to their protective wax.
