Warm, humid indoor areas—especially kitchens, bathrooms, wall voids, and near appliances or plumbing.

Omnivorous scavengers that eat crumbs, grease, starches, pet food, glue, and other organic debris.

Primarily nocturnal, fast-moving, and highly shelter-seeking; they reproduce rapidly, with females carrying egg cases until shortly before hatching.

They can contaminate food and spread bacteria, while shed skins and feces may trigger allergies or asthma. They provide little meaningful household benefit, though they are decomposers in natural environments.
