Ichneumon Wasp

Gardens, forests, meadows, and occasionally inside homes when accidentally wandering indoors.

Adults feed on nectar and pollen, while larvae are parasitic and feed on the bodies of other insects (such as caterpillars, beetle larvae, and spiders).

Females use their long ovipositors to locate and deposit eggs inside or on host insects, where the developing larvae consume the host from the inside out.

They pose no threat or sting risk to humans under normal circumstances and act as beneficial natural pest controllers in gardens and agriculture.
