Carpet beetle

Indoors in dark, undisturbed areas like closets, carpets, and baseboards; outdoors in flowers and bird nests.

Larvae consume animal-based fibers such as wool, silk, feathers, and leather. Adults feed on pollen and nectar.

Larvae actively avoid light and hide in fabric folds while feeding destructively. Adults are strong flyers often found near windows trying to get outside.

Larvae cause significant damage to clothing, rugs, and upholstery. They pose no biting threat to humans, though larval hairs can cause skin irritation.
