Thread-waisted wasp

Found in open areas, meadows, gardens, and along woodland edges where flowers and loose soil are present.

Adults feed on nectar and pollen from various flowers. Larvae are carnivorous, feeding on paralyzed insects or spiders provided by the mother.

Solitary wasps known for their characteristic slender waist and nesting habits, often digging burrows in sandy soil to provision with prey for their young.

Generally non-aggressive toward humans and rarely sting unless heavily provoked. They act as beneficial pollinators and help control pest insect populations.
