Carpet Beetle

Indoor environments, particularly in dark, undisturbed areas like carpets, baseboards, and closets.

Larvae feed on animal-based fibers such as wool, silk, feathers, leather, and pet hair.

Larvae are nocturnal and actively avoid light, hiding in dark crevices while feeding. Adults emerge in spring to feed on pollen outdoors.

Larvae cause significant damage to textiles, clothing, and carpets. They do not bite humans, though larval hairs can cause allergic skin reactions.
