Net-winged beetle

Found in forests, woodlands, and under the bark of dead trees or on foliage.

Adults generally feed on nectar, pollen, or sometimes do not feed at all; larvae feed on decaying plant matter, fungi, and soft-bodied invertebrates.

Slow-moving insects that rely on aposematic coloration (bright orange and black) to warn predators of their toxicity. They are often seen resting on vegetation.

They are completely harmless to humans and beneficial to the ecosystem as decomposers in their larval stage and occasional pollinators as adults.
