Adults feed mainly on palm sap and tissues; larvae consume rotting wood, compost, and other decaying plant material.

Mostly nocturnal; adults often fly to lights and bore into palm crowns. Females lay eggs in decaying organic matter, where larvae develop before pupating.

Adults can seriously damage or kill coconut and other palms, making this species an agricultural pest. Larvae help decompose organic matter, but this invasive beetle can disrupt tropical ecosystems.
