Bed Bug

Domestic environments, primarily living in cracks and crevices near sleeping areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and baseboards.

Obligate hematophagy (feeds exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, preferably humans).

Nocturnal parasites that emerge at night to feed. They undergo hemimetabolous metamorphosis including egg, five nymphal stages, and adult. They often hitchhike on luggage or clothing to spread.

Risks include itchy skin welts, allergic reactions, secondary skin infections from scratching, and psychological stress. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans. Benefits are nonexistent to humans.
