Striped lynx spider

Vegetation, gardens, grasslands, and occasionally indoor walls or windows. It is most common in warm, sunny habitats across much of North America.

An active hunter that captures flies, moths, beetles, leafhoppers, and other small arthropods. It does not rely on a capture web, though it may use silk for shelter or safety lines.

Fast-moving, agile, and often hunts by ambush or jumping among vegetation. Females guard flattened egg sacs and young; adults are usually active during daylight.

Not medically significant to humans; bites are rare and typically mild. It benefits gardens and ecosystems by consuming numerous plant pests.
