Active during cooler months (spring and fall). They often crawl onto sunny walls or enter buildings through cracks in large numbers. When crushed, they leave a characteristic reddish stain due to their body fluids.

Harmless to humans and pets as they do not bite or transmit diseases. They are agricultural/garden pests that can cause minor damage to foliage and leave red stains on fabrics and walls if squashed.
