Bed Bug

Found worldwide in human dwellings, typically hiding in cracks and crevices of mattresses, bed frames, furniture, and baseboards.

Hematophagous (feeds exclusively on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals).

Nocturnal and elusive, emerging primarily at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis through five nymphal stages, requiring a blood meal to molt between stages.

Risks include itchy, red bite welts, allergic reactions, secondary skin infections from scratching, and significant psychological distress or anxiety. They offer no known benefits to humans.
