Drain Fly Larva

Moist areas organic matter rich, such as bathroom drains, sewage pipes, and wet compost.

Mainly feeds on decomposing organic matter, algae, fungi, and the gelatinous slime found in plumbing.

The larvae live within the bio-film of drains and are highly resistant to water flow. They undergo complete metamorphosis.

Rarely harmful to humans, but can indicate plumbing issues or sanitation needs; they help break down organic waste in ecosystems.
