Indoor environments, specifically in cracks and crevices of beds, furniture, and walls

Obligate hematophages; they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans

Nocturnal parasites that emerge at night to feed. They undergo hemimetabolous metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and attract one another via aggregation pheromones

While not known to transmit diseases, their bites cause allergic reactions, itchiness, and psychological distress. They are difficult to eradicate and pose an economic burden as household pests
