Natural Habitat

Indoors within human dwellings, mattress seams, bed frames, furniture, and wall crevices.

Diet & Feeding

Obligate hematophage; feeds exclusively on human and mammal blood.

Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal feeds while hosts sleep; bites often appear in small clusters or linear patterns ('breakfast, lunch, and dinner').

Risks & Benefits

Causes itchy red welts, skin irritation, allergic reactions, and sleep deprivation. They do not efficiently transmit blood-borne diseases to humans.
