Black Ant

Gardens, woodlands, pavements, and often indoor environments looking for food.

Omnivorous; feeds on sugary secretions (honeydew), small insects, nectar, and food scraps.

Social insects living in large colonies. They follow pheromone trails to food sources and are highly active during warm seasons.

Generally considered a nuisance pest when indoors, but beneficial to the ecosystem through soil aeration and pest control.
