Pale Green Assassin Bug

Found on various trees, shrubs, and foliage in forests, gardens, and urban landscapes across North America.

Strictly carnivorous; feeds on a variety of small insects including beetles, caterpillars, and aphids by piercing them with a proboscis.

Uses a 'sticky trap' strategy by secreting a resinous substance on its front legs to help catch prey. It is active during the day and has a hemimetabolous life cycle.

Benefits the ecosystem as a natural pest control agent in gardens. While not aggressive, it can deliver a painful bite to humans if handled, similar to a bee sting.
