Spotted cucumber beetle (likely)

Vegetable gardens, crop fields, meadows, and grassy areas, especially where cucurbits grow.

Adults feed on leaves, flowers, and pollen, especially cucumber, squash, melon, and bean plants; larvae feed mainly on roots.

Active in daylight and often flies when disturbed. Females lay eggs in soil, and larvae develop underground before pupating into adults.

Adults can damage crops and transmit bacterial wilt and some plant viruses. They are also prey for birds, spiders, and predatory insects.
