Common Clothes Moth

Indoor environments, found in closets, drawers, and areas where natural fibers are stored.

Larvae feed on animal fibers such as wool, fur, silk, and feathers; they do not eat synthetic fabrics.

Larvae create silken tunnels or mats while feeding. Adults avoid light and are weak fliers, often seen scuttling across surfaces.

Risk: Major pest that causes damage to clothing, carpets, and upholstery. Benefit: Ecological role as decomposers of keratin-based materials in nature.
