Fishing spider

Near bodies of water, including streams, ponds, and wooded shorelines.

Carnivorous, feeding on insects, tadpoles, and small fish by hunting on the water surface.

Active hunters that do not build webs, capable of running across water and submerging to escape predators.

Harmless to humans with mild venom, but benefits the ecosystem by controlling aquatic and terrestrial insect populations.
