Broad-headed bug

Grasslands, fields, and other open habitats, often on legumes and grasses.

Pierces seeds and pods to feed on plant juices; some species also feed on insects.

Adults are active runners and fliers; nymphs can resemble ants. They commonly overwinter as adults.

Generally harmless to people and not a major household pest. Some species may damage legume crops, while predatory feeding can provide limited pest control.
