Jumping spider

Commonly found on walls, windowsills, and vegetation in homes and gardens.

Predatory; hunts small insects and other arthropods.

Active hunters with excellent vision; they stalk and pounce rather than catching prey in webs. The pictured spider appears dead or curled up.

Harmless to people in ordinary circumstances and beneficial for controlling household and garden pests.
