House centipede

Often found indoors in damp areas such as bathrooms, basements, and crawl spaces; also lives outdoors beneath stones and leaf litter.

A predator that eats insects and other small arthropods, including flies, roaches, and spiders.

Fast-moving, mostly nocturnal, and hides in cracks during the day. It has 15 pairs of long legs and develops through molts.

Generally harmless to people and useful for controlling household pests; bites are rare and usually mild.
