Flea (tentative identification)

Animal bedding, carpets, upholstery, and sheltered areas frequented by dogs, cats, or wildlife.

Adults consume blood, primarily from mammals and occasionally birds. Larvae feed on organic debris and dried blood in host environments.

Wingless, laterally flattened, and highly specialized for jumping; adults hide in fur or furnishings, while eggs and larvae develop off-host.

Bites cause itchy papules and allergic dermatitis, and fleas can transmit pathogens or parasites. They are ecological food for predators but provide no meaningful household benefit.
