Broad range of dried plant products including flour, bread, breakfast cereals, spices, coffee beans, and even non-food items like leather and books.

Adults are capable of flight and are attracted to light. They are most active at night. Their life cycle from egg to adult takes approximately 7 to 12 months depending on temperature and food quality.

Significant pest of stored products; they can contaminate food with excrement and shed skins. While they do not bite humans or transmit diseases, they cause economic loss and food waste.
