Crab Spider

Outdoors on flowers, foliage, tree bark, leaf litter, and soil; occasionally wanders indoors accidentally.

Carnivorous; feeds on small insects such as flies, bees, ants, and mosquitoes, ambush-style without building webs.

Walks sideways and backwards crab-like using enlarged front legs. They are solitary ambush predators that lie in wait for prey rather than spinning webs.

Harmless to humans and pets (bites are extremely rare and mild). Beneficial pest control that eats nuisance insects.
