Likely a black carpet beetle adult

Homes, especially closets, carpets, stored fabrics, and areas where lint or dead insects accumulate.

Adults feed on pollen outdoors; larvae consume animal-based materials such as wool, feathers, fur, and dead insects.

Adults are small, dark, oval beetles; larvae are hairy and do most of the household damage. They may emerge indoors from infested stored materials.

Harmless to people and pets, but larvae can damage natural-fiber clothing and furnishings. The pictured insect is too small for certain identification; a clear close-up would help confirm it.
