Parson Spider

Found under logs, rocks, and loose bark outdoors, but frequently wanders indoors into homes, often found along baseboards and walls.

Carnivorous; hunts and consumes various insects, particularly crawling bugs like ants, silverfish, and other spiders, without using a web.

Nocturnal hunters that hide in silk retreats during the day and actively stalk and pounce on prey at night. They are fast runners and do not spin traditional webs to catch food.

Generally beneficial as natural pest control against household insects. While they can bite if trapped against human skin, their venom is not medically significant, usually causing only mild localized pain or swelling similar to a mild bee sting.
