Iridescent Blue Moth (Hooktip Moth family)

Adults primarily feed on nectar, honeydew, or dissolved minerals from tree sap and moist soil; caterpillars feed on leaves of specific host plants.

Night-active (nocturnal) moth that exhibits structural coloration causing iridescent blue hues when exposed to direct lighting or flash photography. They typically rest flat on foliage with spread wings to display eye-spots that deter predators.

Harmless to humans. Functions as an ecosystem pollinator and serves as a valuable food source for birds, bats, and predatory invertebrates.
