Jersey Tiger

Dry valleys, bushy places, woodland edges, and gardens in temperate regions.

Adults feed on nectar from flowers such as ivy, brambles, and buddleia; caterpillars feed on various herbaceous plants including nettles, borage, and brambles.

Nocturnal and diurnal activity, often flying in sunshine as well as at night. Adults can be found from July to September.

Harmless to humans; their bright coloration acts as a warning to predators that they are distasteful due to toxic compounds retained from their larval diet. They act as pollinators.
