Case-bearing moth larva (household casebearer)

Indoors in sheltered, humid spots such as closets, bathrooms, and garages; larvae attach their portable cases to walls or fabrics.

Larvae feed on cobwebs, hair, lint, and other animal-derived material; they may also graze on wool or other natural fibers.

The caterpillar lives inside a narrow, spindle-shaped case made from silk and debris, extending its head to feed and move. It pupates within the case; adults are small moths.

Usually harmless to people, but larvae can damage wool, fur, or stored textiles. They also consume cobwebs and household detritus.
