Bed Bug

Indoor environments, particularly in cracks and crevices of mattresses, bed frames, furniture, and baseboards.

Hematophagous; feeds exclusively on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals.

Nocturnal pests that emerge primarily at night to feed. They hide in dark, secluded areas during the day and undergo incomplete metamorphosis through five nymphal stages.

Risks include itchy bites, allergic reactions, secondary skin infections from scratching, and severe psychological distress. They provide no known ecological benefits to human living spaces.
