Plaster Casebearer (Casebearing Clothes Moth larva)

Indoors in moist, humid environments such as bathrooms, closets, garages, and along baseboards

Feeds on natural fibers, silk, wool, spider webs, shed human/pet hair, and dead insects

The larva constructs a portable, flattened, spindle-shaped protective silk case covered in sand, soil, and household debris. It extends its head and front legs out of either end of the case to drag itself along surfaces while feeding and eventually pupates inside the case.

Harmless to humans and pets as it does not bite or sting. However, it can cause minor damage to natural fiber fabrics, woolens, and rugs if populations grow large.
