Subterranean or inside wooden structures; swarmers are often found near windows and lights.

Winged reproductives leave the colony in large swarms to mate and start new colonies, usually after rain.

Harmless to humans directly (no biting/stinging), but indicates a potential termite infestation that can cause severe structural damage to buildings.
