Pill bug (Sowbug)

Moist environments under rocks, logs, leaf litter, or indoors in damp basements and crawl spaces.

Scavengers that primarily eat decaying organic matter, such as rotting leaves and wood.

Night-active and often roll into a ball (balling) when threatened or to preserve moisture. As crustaceans, they breathe through gill-like organs.

Harmless to humans; they do not bite or sting. Benefit ecosystems as decomposers, but can be minor pests in gardens or damp areas of homes.
