Drugstore Beetle

Pantropical and temperate regions; often found indoors in kitchen pantries, warehouses, and pharmacies.

Polyphagous; feeds on a wide range of dried plant products including flour, bread, spices, tea, and even pharmaceutical drugs.

Adults do not feed but are active fliers attracted to light; females lay eggs on food sources which the larvae then burrow into and consume through several instars.

A major pest of stored products that can cause significant economic damage and food spoilage; harmless to humans and pets but can penetrate packaging.
