Elm Leaf Beetle Larvae

Found on elm trees and surrounding areas where elm foliage is present, often migrating down trunks to pupate.

Elm tree leaves, skeletonizing them by feeding on the green tissue between the veins.

Larvae feed gregariously on the underside of elm leaves before descending the tree trunk in large numbers to pupate in the soil or bark crevices.

Risks include significant defoliation and weakening of elm trees, making them susceptible to other pests and diseases. They provide no major benefits to home gardens or urban forests.
