Case-bearing clothes moth (probable)

Dark, undisturbed indoor areas such as closets, carpets, upholstery, and stored textiles; larvae may also occur in bird nests.

Larvae eat keratin-containing materials, including wool, fur, feathers, hair, and natural fabrics; adults generally do not feed.

Larvae remain inside a silken, fiber-covered case and feed while concealed, emerging as small moths. Adults are weak fliers and often hide in darkness; development can take several months.

Larvae can damage woolens, carpets, furs, and other animal-based textiles but do not bite people or transmit disease. They contribute modestly to decomposition of keratin-rich materials outdoors.
