Ground Beetle

Found under stones, logs, bark, leaf litter, and in gardens or cultivated fields worldwide.

Primarily predatory, feeding on insects, slugs, snails, caterpillars, and other small invertebrates.

Mostly nocturnal, fast-running hunters that rarely fly. They hide during the day and emerge at night to forage.

They do not bite humans usually and are beneficial to ecosystems and agriculture because they act as natural pest control by consuming garden pests.
